Who are we? The Wesley Methodist Church Kepong is a English medium Methodist church located in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. We are also a member of the Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC) of the Methodist Church in Malaysia and are thus part of a "big family" of Methodist churches in Malaysia
Wesley Methodist Church Kepong ( more affectionately refered to as Wesley Kepong ) begin as a Parish Care Group of the Wesley Methodist Church Kuala Lumpur. It became a Preaching Point in 1986 and was constituted as a church on 24 October 1987 with a total membership of 39. A constituting worship service was held on 24th October 1987 at 6.15m pm in Wesley Methodist Church Kuala Lumpur to herald the birth of Wesley Kepong. Over 200 church members, guest and church leaders were present. Rev Ng Ee Lin conducted the worship service assisted by Rev Datuk Dr Dennis C. Dutton and Mr. Peter Palmer. At that moment, the church begain to hold its worship service and activities from a rented double-storey terrace house in Taman Kepong.
In 1990, with the increasing number of regular worshippers, and the church membership grew to 60 and the rented double-storey terrace house was no longer capable of containing the crowd. God, in His graciousness led the church to purchase a corner lot double-storey terrace house in Taman Kepong. The purchase of this property was financed by the church as well as loans from various churches and the Area Executive Council (AEC) of the Methodist Church in Malaysia. By 1996, the church managed to repay all the loans in full, a testimony to the faithfulness of its members. The church continued its life and ministry on this premises. In 1999, Wesley Kepong took a leap to go global as the church launched its own web site (http://www.gbgm-umc.org/wesleykepong).
Through the grace of God, the membership of Wesley Kepong went beyond 90 as the nineties came to a close. Once again, the church leadership was presented with a "pleasant" problem, the issue of looking for an alternative premises to house the activities of the church. By putting faith in God, the church purchased its current building ( the ground floor and mezzanine floor of a corner shoplot in Desa Aman Puri ) and in 1999 we moved into the premises in March 2000. Our membership has now reached 114 and our average attendance is about 140 including children. Looking at the busy commercial hub and residential properties around our church, we believe that God has directed us to be in this community to minister to the huge number of people available
Through the years the membership of Wesley Kepong has continued to grow and again we were faced with the issue of space. In early 2007, a bungalow factory lot in the Taman Ehsan Industrial Park was identified as a possible site for our new and permanent church
